Best-Dressed at TIFF: Penelope Cruz

Still clinging to that archaic notion that you can’t wear white after Labour Day? Not only is that once-classic fashion rule part of a bygone era but actress Penélope Cruz took it even further and wore a summery looking white dress on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival.
For the world premiere of her latest film, Ma ma, in which she stars and produces, the actress wore a simple white below-the-knee dress by Roland Mouret. The dress, from the label’s upcoming resort collection, features a single ruffle down the front. Keeping the look modern, the actress kept accessories simple with a pair of gold hoops and nude pumps.
Understated, yes. But it was a pitch-perfect style note in the September sunshine in Toronto.
