Celebrate Canada 150 with this uniquely Canadian cocktail. 

Canadian singer Bryan Adams shouldn't be the only one thanking the summer of '69: It's also the year that the great Canadian Caesar cocktail was born—not to be confused with the American Bloody Mary.

Did you know?: It all started at the Calgary Inn (now the Westin Hotel), when restaurant manager Walter Chell was tasked with creating a cocktail to celebrate the opening of the inn's new Italian restaurant. The drink's infusion of clam and tomato juice was inspired by his favourite Italian dish—spaghetti vongole.

While it took Chell months to perfect, today the proportions and ingredients are customized to the drinker—especially when it comes to the amount of vodka added.
