Duchess of Cornwall caught Andy Murray’s sweatband at Wimbledon

Britain’s Duchess of Cornwall ended up with Andy Murray’s sweatband following his second round victory at Wimbledon yesterday (02.07.15).
Celebrating his straight sets win over Robin Haase, the 28-year-old British tennis champion threw his wristband towards Camilla as she sat in the stands of Number One court with interior designer Annabel Elliot and Chairman of the AELTC Philip Brook.
While Andy’s sweatband was actually caught by All England Club chairman Philip Brook, he passed it to the 67-year-old Duchess, who is apparently a big Rafael Nadal fan.
A Clarence House spokeswoman said the Duchess and Andy met after his win so she could “pass on her congratulations”, and in a tweet to the tennis player, Clarence House said: “Thank you for your wrist band Andy!”
According to the Evening Standard newspaper, Andy later said the Duchess had shown him the sweatband in her bag and a royal source confirmed she was “delighted” with her memento.
Camilla has been having a lot of fun this week, having met with Floral Angels – who take the blooms from weddings and other events and recycle them for hospices, shelters and senior homes – in her London home, Clarence House on Wednesday (01.07.15), where she crafted a bouquet from delphiniums and other native British plants to be taken to a London branch of Maggie’s Centre, a cancer charity of which she is patron.
