Yogis already know the secret: yoga is a great aid in general well-being.

When practiced regularly, it helps to relieve the body and mind of aches and stress. A good yoga session can help you get ready to face your day, stretching out tight muscles and easing you into a calm and happy disposition.

Jason Lu, co-owner and co-founder of Yoga Tree, suggestions these three, easy and mild exercises as an introduction into the yogi way of life.

Tiger Pose – Part 1
This is great for those looking for a low-impact move that strengthens the whole spine. It helps to relieve the minor aches and pain in the lower back and upper back due to back posture and slouching. It opens the lungs and also helps to open the stern which releases antibodies to boost the immune system.

Tiger Pose – Part 2
This pose helps with digestion, strengthens the abdominal, the legs and arms, opens the spine and empties the lungs’ stale air.

Boat Pose (Navasana)
This pose strengthens the abominable, spine and hip flexors as well as the core. It is great for toning tired legs and helps to improve digestion as well.

Twist (Ardha Matsyendrasana)
This twist increases circulation in the spine. It stretches the IT band (Iliotibial Band), which is a common cause of knee pain and relieves a stiff spine. The move stimulates the kidney and liver and can help with digestion, too.
