In its usual quirky, upbeat way, Benefit springs a surprise on us: a foundation primer in stick form (the crafters amongst us will feel right at home). Though it’s tinted a soft peach shade, the product glides on transparent and just like its liquid, silicone counterparts, it fills in small imperfections and smooths out your skin’s texture.

Apply to a clean face or after applying moisturizer, and then top with foundation and/or powder right away (waiting will make it difficult to blend as this particular formulation dries quickly; swiftness is the name of the game). It’s slightly tacky to the touch, but surprisingly light. The most important part: it delivers—though it’s not Super Bond glue, this extra layer most definitely keeps makeup in place for an entire work day, even during hot and humid weather.
