1. Musketeers Hot Chocolate

We have much to be grateful for when it comes to 3 Musketeers. Not only did this fluffy nougat chocolate bar of greatness power us through writing our two cookbooks, but it also fuels us when we hit our 3 o’clock slump. Now, with this 3 Musketeers Hot Chocolate, we can have our chocolate and drink it too.

Ingredients

2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp cocoa powder, sifted
¼ cup whole milk

1cup whole milk
¼ cup chopped 3 Musketeers bars

Directions

In a small saucepan, over medium heat, whisk brown sugar, cocoa powder and ¼ cup milk together until smooth. Add remaining 1 cup milk, whisk well and heat through. Place chopped chocolate bars in the bottom of a mug and pour hot chocolate over top.

Serves 1

2. Birthday Cake Hot Chocolate

Every day can be your birthday with this makes-wishes-come-true Birthday Cake Hot Chocolate.

Ingredients

3 cups whole milk
1/2 cup dry chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup chopped semi-sweet chocolate
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Vanilla frosting, to rim mugs
Colorful sprinkles, to rim mugs

Directions

1) Bring milk to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk in cake mix until dissolved. Add chocolate and whisk until melted. Remove from heat and whisk in vanilla extract.

2) To rim your mugs, rub around the rims of 2 large mugs with vanilla frosting. Dip the rim of the mugs into colorful sprinkles.

3. Cinnamon Hot Chocolate

Looking to beat the cold? Warm up with a mug of this sweet, cinnamon-spiced hot chocolate, a creamy blend of cocoa, cinnamon and vanilla.

Ingredients

1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp + 3/4 cup milk
Whipped cream, for topping

Directions

1) In a large glass measuring cup, combine the cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and 2 tbsp milk. Mix thoroughly until well combined and the result is a thick, chocolate syrup. Set aside.

2)In a small saucepan (over medium heat) or in the microwave, warm 3/4 cup of milk over medium heat until it reaches preferred temperature. Pour the warm milk into the chocolate syrup and stir until combined. Pour into your favorite mug and garnish with whipped cream and sprinkle of cinnamon.

4. Hot Chocolate Shots

We love chocolate, so it should come as no surprise that we’ve brought our childhood favorite (creamy, dreamy hot chocolate) into adulthood with these whiskey and liqueur-spiked Hot Chocolate Shots.

Ingredients

2 tbsp cocoa powder, sifted
2 tbsp brown sugar
¼ cup whole milk
¼ cup chopped semi-sweet chocolate
1 cup whole milk
1oz bourbon
½ oz Grand Marnier, or any orange liqueur

Whipped cream, for garnish
Orange zest, for garnish

Directions

In a medium saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder and brown sugar. Over medium heat, whisk in ¼ cup milk and semi-sweet chocolate, continuously whisking until melted. Add remaining 1 cup milk and heat through. Remove from heat and stir in bourbon and Grand Marnier. Pour into shot glasses and top with whipped cream and orange zest.

Yield: 4 Shots

5. Sweet and Spicy Mocha Hot Chocolate

Offering up the best of both worlds (chocolate and coffee, sweet and spicy), this hot chocolate is our fave pick me up!

Ingredients

1½ cups milk
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp good quality cocoa powder
1 tbsp instant coffee granules
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp salt

Optional Toppings

Whipped Cream
Marshmallows
Mini chocolate chips
Chocolate Syrup
Caramel Syrup

Directions

Place all ingredients, except the toppings, in a medium-sized saucepan and cook over medium-low heat, constantly whisking, for 2 to 3 minutes, or until heated through. Pour into two coffee cups or glasses and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, and or caramel syrup.

6. Nutella Hot Chocolate

We’ve been quoted saying that we love Nutella so much, we could drink it. Now, thanks to this hot chocolate, we can.

Ingredients

1 cup milk (1%, non-fat or whole)
1½-2 tbsp Nutella

Directions

In the microwave or in a small saucepan, heat milk to steaming. Pour into mug and add Nutella, stirring until it dissolves.

7. Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate

Is there a more delicious pairing than peanut butter and chocolate? No, we didn’t think so and that’s why we’re devouring mug after mug of this sweet, smooth and utterly sensational Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate.

Ingredients

3 tbsp smooth peanut butter
¼ cup whole milk
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp cocoa powder, sifted
1 cup whole milk

Whipped cream, for garnish

Directions

In a small saucepan, over medium heat, whisk peanut butter and ¼ cup milk together until smooth. Whisk in brown sugar, sugar and cocoa powder until well combined. Add remaining 1 cup milk, whisk well and heat through. Garnish with whipped cream.

8. Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Hold on to your hat because this Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate, the perfect mix of sweet and salty, is going to blow you away!

Ingredients

2 tbsp Dulce de leche
1/2 cup whole milk
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp sugar
Pinch of sea salt
2 tbsp cocoa powder, sifted
2 cups whole milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Dulce de leche, to rim mugs

Directions

1) In a small saucepan, over medium heat, whisk dulce de leche and 1/2 cup milk together until smooth. Whisk in brown sugar, sugar, sea salt and cocoa powder until well combined. Add remaining 2 cups milk, whisk well and heat through. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

2) To rim your mugs, rub the rims of 2 large mugs with dulce de leche and dip the rim of the mugs in coarse sea salt.

9. White Hot Chocolate

What could be better than eating white chocolate? Drinking it. Try this easy recipe for White Hot Chocolate and get ready for some creamy, dreamy decadence.

Ingredients

2 cups whole milk
4 oz white chocolate, chopped
½ tsp vanilla extract
Pinch ground cinnamon

Whipped cream, for garnish
White chocolate curls, for garnish

Directions

In a small saucepan, heat milk over low heat. Whisk in white chocolate until melted. Remove from heat and whisk in vanilla and cinnamon. Pour into a large mug and garnish with whipped cream and white chocolate curls.
