Gene Simmons is known for his bachelor ways, dating some of Hollywood's top women - Diana Ross and Cher - and admitting to sharing his bed with close to 5,000 females.
But after 25 years with Canadian Shannon Tweed, Simmons has decided it is time to settle down. The KISS star made public how ready he was for commitment by proposing in front of the cameras for their reality television show Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
The 61-year-old says to Tweed, 54, “I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got. You're the only one I love...and you're the only one I ever will love,” and, “'I've never said those words to anybody. And I don't ever want to...funny, I used to watch movies where they say I can't live without you, but for me it's true.”
The proposal may come as a surprise to some Simmons' fans as just a few weeks ago the couple's appearance on the Joy Behar show sparked rumours of a breakup. Behar grilled the couple on Simmons' “philandering ways” and Tweed admitted she was tired of it and stormed off the set.
Fans have yet to know what Tweed's answer is but judging by her tears in the preview, it seems she is nothing but elated.
