Happy Birthday, Christopher Plummer!

Today, Canadian actor and Stratford veteran Christopher Plummer turns 82! In this 1975 City Lights interview with Brian Linehan, Plummer looks back on his early acting days in Montreal and self-deprecatingly refers to himself as an old man, saying, “I am about 120 years old as you can tell.” Little did he know  that 36 years later he would still be on top of his game. The two-time Emmy and two-time Tony award-winner has had many groundbreaking roles. This year, he received rave reviews for his role as Hal, an older gay father, in Beginnings. Fans will soon see Plummer play Henrik Vagner in the highly anticipated Girl With the Dragon Tattoo based on Stieg Larsson’s award-winning novel. Recently, the thespian was honoured by the Stratford Festival with a lifetime achievement award and will be performing in the one-man show A Word or Two next year at Stratford. Plummer sat down with Zoomer’s Kim Izzo in August 2010. Click here to read that cover story.
