With the harsh winter months behind us, now is the perfect time to visit Bermuda. Just a three-hour getaway from Eastern Canada, Bermuda is known for its incomparable weather, pink sand beaches and distinctive blend of British and American culture.

Bermuda offers something for everyone. The temperate weather is perfect for lounging on the beach and swimming in the crystal clear waters. Those who are a bit more adventurous can snorkel or scuba dive to explore the numerous shipwrecks, or join a deep sea fishing expedition to experience some of the best big-game fishing in the Atlantic Ocean. The island boasts more golf courses per capita than anywhere else in the world, and is famed for its breadth of historic sites and warm, friendly people.

Offering a perfect combination of city and sand, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, is conveniently located in the city of Hamilton overlooking the stunning blue waters of Hamilton Harbour. This urban oasis features beautifully appointed guest rooms, a stunning infinity edge resort pool, and 1609 Bar and Restaurant, Bermuda’s only open-air dining experience.

This iconic harbor side resort has recently debuted Phase Two of its more than $90 million renovation, which includes new restaurants and bars, renovated guestrooms and suites, a private beach club and more.

Stay in the Gazebo Wing, where all 88 guestrooms and suites have been renovated to include all new furniture and feature a sophisticated color palette inspired by the island. Cream colored hues are complemented by energizing splashes of color, while rich upholstery, dark woods and sumptuous finishes complete the effect. Luxury bathrooms feature marble tile and walk-in rain showers.

Wine and dine at Marcus’, a new harbor side restaurant by celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson opening in May 2015. The restaurant features an open kitchen complete with wood burning barbeque pit, a central bar, and a new 1,500-square-foot outdoor terrace overlooking the hotel’s marina. The menu reflects Chef Samuelsson’s signature international style while incorporating the flavors and culture of Bermuda. The hotel’s lobby restaurant was also renovated and has reopened as Crown & Anchor. Featuring indoor and outdoor seating, the new restaurant and lounge offers breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

This summer, the Princess Beach Club will open on the island’s dramatic South Shore – the perfect place to lounge, swim or snorkel. Sample bites by Marcus Samuelsson at the beach bar and restaurant, and play in the water with paddle boards, snorkeling gear and water cannons to cool off.

Art connoisseurs will delight in the hotel’s Art Walks, a public art program offered every Saturday throughout the lobby and public spaces in the hotel. The walks highlight the hotel’s impressive collection, including artists such as Andy Warhol (Queen Elizabeth II, Reigning Queens), Damien Hirst (Cineole), Nelson Mandela (Impressions of Africa, Key & Bars, and Struggle Series) and Philippe Decrauzat (Sz), among others. The walking tour also includes the contemporary works on display at the neighboring Waterloo House, as well as a walk through Queen Elizabeth Park, which features a number of sculptures from the collection of the Bermuda National Gallery.

Enjoy a round of golf at Riddell’s Bay Golf and Country Club, a private club showcasing a stunning 18-hole course designed by Theodore G Robinson, which holds the distinction of oldest course on the island. A challenging course with picturesque water views, Riddell’s Bay is perfect for golfers of all levels and exclusive to members and guests of Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.

The Princess Marina, a new state-of-the-art marina, offers 59 berths for boats of all shapes and sizes, as well as fishing excursions, island tours and a wide range of water sports, from jet skis to diving. With annual events like the Bermuda Big Game Classic held at the Princess Marina each summer, and the recent announcement that the 2017 America’s Cup is coming to Bermuda, the marina is a wonderful addition to Bermuda’s vibrant boating and sailing community.
