Jazz Great Hank Jones has died at 91

Active up until his final hours, jazz legend Hank Jones died on Sunday at the age of 91 in a hospice in the Bronx, New York.

After spending much of his career as a back-up and studio musician, most notably for Ella Fitzgerald and Charlie Parker, the 1980s saw Jones come into his own as a band leader. Jones received a lifetime achievement Grammy Award in 2009 and had just returned from a tour of Japan.
