Letters from Lightstone: Sites and Sounds of Israel, Part 7

Follow ZoomerMedia’s Marilyn Lightstone as she travels to Israel this summer to bring you first-hand coverage of this culturally rich country. In this dispatch, she sends a letter to her friend Sunny Holtzman.

Dear Sunny,

When we were friends as teenagers, we never could have imagined that we would be seeing one another in Israel, where you have lived since 1960! It’s usually you who comes to Canada to see all your old friends, and I can’t believe that we will spend three days together in Tel Aviv after I have concluded my press junket duties.

What a difference since my last visit here to shoot the film, Mary and Joseph. There’s everything here that any traveller could hope or wish for!

The photo I’m including in this post was taken at an EXTRAORDINARY herb and spice shop near the German community in the Gallilee, and, had it not been that I was keen to start our Jeep tour, I could have spent hours looking and shopping. Every herb and spice you ever heard of and then some!

See you in Tel Aviv!

More to come…

Marilyn
