Flag Day: Happy 53rd Birthday to Canada’s Maple Leaf Flag

We recently cheered on our Canadian athletes as they marched together behind the Canadian flag at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. Today, as we celebrate Team’s Canada’s amazing successes at the Games, we can also mark  the 53rd anniversary of our flag.

It was this month (Feb. 15, 1965) that the maple leaf flag was first raised above Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Here, for flag enthusiasts and history buffs alike, we present a (very) brief history of the flag of Canada.
