A Musical Journey Through Italy

Join Canadian musician and radio host Kathleen Kajioka for a unique tour of Italy featuring 3 nights in Milan plus a 7 night river cruise! Depart Toronto May 9th – Return from Venice May 20, 2018.

Sandie Harman is delighted to invite you to join her and fellow classical music enthusiasts from across Canada on her fifth annual group tour.

This wonderful experience will combine memorable and molto Italiano activities in Milan with a delightful 7 night Uniworld cruise of the Gulf of Venice and the River Po.

In Milan, we’ll tour the legendary La Scala Opera House plus enjoy a VIP ballet experience there. There will be a day tour to Lake Como including a boat cruise just for us and an exclusive choral concert in Bellagio.

Enroute to Venice in our private motorcoach we’ll stop in Verona, home to Romeo and Juliet (and where still today visitors make a pilgrimage to the famous balcony!) as well as visit the 2,000 year old arena.

Then it’s on to Venice. After settling into our elegant staterooms on Uniworld’s River Countess, we’ll depart by private water taxi for a string concert at San Vidal church.

In Venice we’ll also enjoy a guided walking tour and – exclusive to Uniworld guests – an evening visit to St. Mark’s Basilica and crypt.

During the cruise we’ll be visiting a variety of smaller Italian towns, each exceeding the last in charm and history, including Chioggia, Taglia di Po and the Venice Islands or Buranao, Mazzorbo and Torcello. You’ll also have the chance to take a full-day excursion to Bologna with an exclusive pasta-making workshop!

Your home for the delightful 7 night cruise is the lavish Uniworld River Countess, accommodating just 130 passengers who are impeccably looked after by a crew of 41. And because it’s Uniworld, gourmet meals and beverages, including many premium spirits and wines, are included.

Your escorts for the tour are The New Classical 96.3 FM radio’s on-air host Kathleen Kajioka, also a professional violinist and of course classical music expert; and Vision Travel’s Sandie Harman and her husband Mark. Loved by her clients for her enthusiasm, professionalism, caring attitude and sense of humour, Sandie does such a great job of these tours that many of the past passengers join the hosted trips each year!

She has been careful to ensure that the outings are offered at differing levels of physical fitness from Go Active or as easy as Gentle Walking.

Looking forward to the trip, Kathleen Kajioka says: “This tour includes places that, as a musician, I have always wanted to visit. Milan has long been a world capital for the opera I grew up hearing; and Venice! From Monteverdi to Vivaldi and all the imaginative composers in between, Venice is the birthplace of much of my favourite music of all time. I am thrilled to be hosting what I know is going to be an unforgettable journey with Sandie and Mark! I’ve heard nothing but raves about the detail and care they bring to their tours and to their passengers.”

This vacation is perfect for you if you enjoy classical music, just to listen to or as a serious enthusiast. You’ll be travelling in the company of like-minded people – many of whom have made firm friendships during past Sandie Harman’s hosted trips!
