Prince Charles to visit Doctor Who set

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla will visit the set of ‘Doctor Who’.

The Prince of Wales and his wife will make their annual summer visit to Wales next month and among their itinerary will be a visit to the Cardiff set of the BBC sci-fi drama to mark its 50th anniversary.

The royal couple will also visit the boat house of poet Dylan Thomas to mark his 100th birthday during their visit.

Prince Charles is a patron of the ‘Dylan Thomas 100’ festival and will be accompanied by Camilla as he visits the home where Thomas wrote many of his famous works in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire.

A Clarence House spokesman said: “The prince and the duchess always enjoy their annual visit to Wales and this year they are looking forward to a varied programme of engagements including everything from Dylan Thomas’s boat house to Doctor Who’s TARDIS! Their royal highnesses are also keen to highlight the vital work being done across Wales by some of the charities they are involved with.”

During their visit, the royals will stay at their Llwynywermod home, which is near Llandovery in Carmarthenshire.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla’s Welsh visit will take place between July 1 and July 5. The couple are then expected to return to London for the birth of Charles’ first grandchild in mid-July.
