Princess Mette-Marit in car crash

Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit was involved in a car accident on Tuesday (26.08.15).
The 42-year-old royal was left unharmed from the traffic collision that happened in Oslo on the anniversary of her marriage to her husband, Crown Prince Haakon, also 42.
Though a statement from the palace called the accident “undramatic” it caused the princess to cancel all other engagements that day.
It said: “The Crown Princess was hit in her car. There was a small traffic accident and this was quite undramatic”.
Mette-Marit was travelling to a public engagement but was forced to take the rest of the day off becuase of long-standing neck problems caused back in 2008 when she fell during an official visit to the Ukraine.
The blonde royal subsequently underwent corrective surgery but her old injuries were compounded by Tuesday’s crash.
Crown Prince Haakon stepped in for his wife at the UN event for women’s equality that she was due to attend.
According to the palace website, Princess Mette-Marit is set to attend five separate engagements during the upcoming week.
