Remembering Elizabeth Taylor

One year ago today, the world said goodbye to one of Hollywood’s biggest icons, Elizabeth Taylor. The beloved star died at the age of 79 from congestive heart failure. Taylor achieved more in her life than most people can even dream of. Not only did she earn four Oscar nominations throughout her career, but she is the face of several cult classics including Cleopatra and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Taylor was often referred to as one of the most talented and beautiful actresses of Hollywood’s golden era. She was also an inspiring philanthropist and was a major HIV-AIDS activist during the 1980s, a time when there was little awareness about the virus, especially in the entertainment industry.

Elizabeth Taylor will truly live on forever, through her work as an actress and as a courageous humanitarian. In honour of the first-year anniversary of her death, Life Magazine has released several rare and never before-seen images of the striking actress.

Taylor had a unique relationship with Life magazine, and appeared on their cover a staggering 14 times. Lucky for us they decided to dig up these stunning shots from the archives for us all to enjoy in remembering her bright star.
