Spring is here, and the living, or should we say, the packing, should be easy. Here, a few of my favourite things:

Banana Republic started as an outfitter way back when, and made the transition to fashion when the safari-meets-urban jungle motif entered the style arena. The Sloan Pant, with its bi-stretch, crease-resistant fabric, provides just about a perfect fit (even for petites like me) and takes you from airplane to dinner in a pinch. For spring, look for summery prints and florals, or go with outfitter inspired khaki (see above). The pant is part of a 25-piece collection, one of 15 pant styles, and that also includes dresses and skirts, using the same fabulous fabrics. Sloan pant, $110, Banana Republic, www.bananarepublic.ca

If you’re an adventure traveler, spend time in destinations where the weather can be fickle, or just like to stay high and dry, invest in an easily packable, breathable yet waterproof jacket. This Canada Goose shell slips over a blazer to protect it from getting soaked in the city – or wear it on its own while out on a hike. It’s an investment piece, but will last forever. And, being Canada Goose, the company knows weather, with its design that’s made to withstand conditions, using its exclusive 3-layer Tri-Durance hard shell fabric. Timber shell in both men’s and women’s styles, $675, Canada Goose; www.canada-goose.com

If you’re taking the red eye, kiss your own red eyes good bye. Try Aquanature Eye Pads from AnneMarie Borlind Natural Beauty: These babies battle stress, dry air from heating, sun exposure and, yes, jet lagged peepers with a cooling effect to soothe and hydrate. Just pop them on under each eye – their jelly like consistency allows for a smooth fit in the under-eye contour – wait 10 minutes while the botanical hyaluronic acid and algae extract moisturize and revitalize. Even better, the eye pads pass carry on security standards as there’s excess liquid in the easily totable flat shape. www.boerlind.com
