Superstar Madonna Under Fire for Drug Reference

The annually held Ultra Music Festival took place this past weekend in Miami, Fla. This electronic music festival has become all the rage among teens and young adults, with approximately 160,000 patrons in attendance this year alone. Fifty-three-year-old superstar Madonna made an appearance on stage to introduce the popular DJ known as Avicii, and in doing so has stirred up quite a bit of controversy. Firstly, she took the stage wearing some very revealing hot pants with fishnet tights, which many rightly deem as a little inappropriate for a woman in her 50s with a teenage daughter. But her remarks to the crowd are what is causing the fury. The performer asked the crowd “Who’s seen molly tonight?” Molly is a street term for the active ingredient found in the drug ecstasy which unfortunately has major links with the dance music scene. It is an association that many top DJs are trying to shed in a bid to allow the younger generation to enjoy the music safely and without any negative influences. It is no surprise that the world-famous and very outspoken Canadian House DJ known as Deadmau5 (pronounced Dead mouse) had a few choice words for Zoomer-aged Madonna. He said “’Such a great message for the young music lovers at ultra. Quite the f***n philanthropist. But hey, at least you’re HIP AND TRENDY!” Madonna has since claimed she was referring to a song and not the drug. Oddly, we have to agree with Deadmau5 on this one- if you have to clear it up, chances are you were out of line. We think someone is desperately trying to hold on to their youth, and with very questionable tactics.
