The Zoomer Report: Online shopping

More of us are shopping online than ever before – with two thirds of
consumers making one to four online purchases in the last six months. And most
said they were happy with the experience according to Statistics Canada. Here
are some tip to make sure you are too:

Only shop at websites that have secure payment systems. Look for the padlock
logo on the checkout page. Make sure you understand shipping costs whether duties
are included and what your rights are regarding returns. Sizes vary from designer
to designer and country to country – do your homework. Have parcels shipped
to work so you don’t have to waste time going to the post office. You
may be disappointed because some US sites don’t serve Canada. For a fee
you can hire an intermediary service that will have the goods shipped to them
and then on to you. Check out www.internationalcheckout.com.
