Swee’Pea was the ever-crawling baby in the “Popeye” comic series created by E.C. Segar. He was introduced in a 1933 strip when Popeye found him in a box on his doorstep. Popeye adopted him and raised him as his son. While Popeye christened the baby “Scooner Seawell Georgia Washenting Christiffer Columbia Daniel Boom” in the August 17, 1933 strip, Swee’Pea remains his most-used name.
