William Shatner to Host 2012 Juno Awards

 

The 2012 Juno Awards will have Captain Kirk at the helm as it launches on Sunday, April 1 in Ottawa. William Shatner was announced as the host of the 41st Juno awards this morning to loud applause at a press conference in downtown Toronto.

“We’re delighted to welcome one of our nation’s shining stars to Canada’s biggest night in music,” said Melanie Berry, President & CEO, CARAS/TheJUNO Awards, said in a statement. “William Shatner is a Canadian hero, and with his love for music, the stage, and entertaining as a whole, it’s sure to be an incredible show!”

As well, the newest inductees to Canada’s Music Hall of Fame, Blue Rodeo, were announced as performing live at the ceremony.
