STK Miami, Miami
The New York Meatpacking District’s sexy steakhouse has invaded Miami with its pedigree steaks and high-octane scene. With the unleashing of STK Miami , SoBe continues its rise as the hottest restaurant scene in Miami with its late night hotspot in the Gansevoort . The STK Miami – this will be the fourth STK outpost – is a modern steakhouse in all its sexy form (shrimp Rice Krispies, Big Mac sliders). With basically the same M.O. as its brethren in NYC, LA and Vegas, the STK Miami has its South Beach idiosyncrasies: its walls are day-glo purple, a catwalk runs across the back bar for a significant theatrical touch and a huge glazed screen broadcasts an abstract shape of a woman’s body reflecting off the glass.
And yes, this is a steakhouse. Designed by award-winning design firm ICRAVE – the team behind the other STK locations – STK Miami is a hyper 2-story space that features all the trappings of both club and steakhouse worlds: Along with the restaurant on the ground floor is Coco De Ville, a 2,000 square foot lounge, offering up a mega-dose of style. The second level offers up a second dining room, bar and private dining areas that overlook the main floor below.
The sleek blue-hued steakhouse features a menu created by Executive Chef Todd Mark Miller . Plates are mostly the now-standard STK items, but with a few SoBe twists; think Porterhouse (24 oz, $59), a cowboy rib steak (34 oz. $72) and an outstanding Maine lobster with sweet butter. A visit to any STK should involve some grilled red meat (consider the sublime roasted lamb porterhouse with English peas), but should your wont be more of a seafood offering, the seared big eye tuna with sweet potato and lemongrass salad will fit the bill sublimely.
The food is seriously delicious, yet quite fun. And as the night goes on, STK takes on a lounge-y feel with killer cocktails – the “Discreet Encounter” for prime example (Tyku soju vodka, mango & Champagne) – and a healthy wine list. STK attracts a sexy, upscale adventurous crowd. Come prepared.
