Who says getting old can’t be fun? Who says growing old means growing up? Daily happy hours. Tattoos. Sky diving. Tricked out rides. No, it’s not Spring Break. This is SUNSET DAZE — a unique, first of its kind, documentary series about the dynamic, young-at-heart residents living in Surprise, Arizona, one of the world’s largest retirement communities.

Meet and fall in love with its full-tilt characters who are reconnecting with their youth, living every day to their fullest, and having the time of their lives.

AnnAnn, “The Ex-Nun” 61 Ann was born and raised in Ireland. She believes in firmly following her heart, which includes fulfilling a lifelong dream of skydiving at the age of 61… hard to believe considering she was a nun for over 2 decades!

Eileen, “Most Likely to Succeed” 64 Eileen grew up in South Fallsburg, NY. In her 20s she went to school, got married, had 2 children and spent most of her adult life juggling motherhood with a career leaving her little time to concentrate on herself. According to Eileen, “One of the best parts of retirement is getting a chance to do so many things I was too busy to do when I was younger.”

GailGail, “The Actress” 70+ Perhaps it’s her fiery red hair or her feisty New York accent, whatever the reason, Gail is a sassy senior who is truly larger than life. She was practically born to entertain appearing on stage from the age of 16, Gail also sang with a 17 piece band for 13 years while working as a vocational rehabilitation counselor.

JackJack, “Mr. Romeo” 72 Jack grew up in the Baltimore, MD area and enjoyed a storybook childhood. Now single and retired, Jack enjoys dancing, and a good burger. He has his eye on a woman he’s been courting for a few months, but for some reason he can’t seem to seal the deal.

JoanneJoanne, “The Best Friend” 63 Joanne’s life has been an action packed adventure for as long as she can remember. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and nearly 40 years later she can still out perform her friends on the golf course, on the dance floor, and just about any other activity that requires high energy.

LaWandaLaWanda, “Hot Legs” 74 There’s no doubt about it, LaWanda’s got a heart of gold and a personality to match. Retirement has given her and her husband Doug a second opportunity to live out their life long dreams. Unfortunately, Doug was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease a year ago and more recently with ALS which forced them both to slow down a bit.

LindaLinda, “The New Girl in Town” 64 Moving from Chicago in January 2010, Linda is the freshman new-comer to the Sun City communities. And like any “kid on the first day of school,” she’s approaching her new life with wide eyes and some jitters.

RonRon, “Big Man on Campus” 68 There is nothing that Ron can’t do if he sets his mind to it. This is why he has decided to run for one of the empty spots in Sun City Grand’s Board of Directors. The founder of Double R Enterprise, a booking and promoting agency, Ron has promoted entertainers such as Al Green, The Chilites, Chuck Jackson, Millie Jackson and Bobby Blue Bland.

SandySandy, “The Wild Child” 68 Look up fun in the dictionary and you’ll see a picture of Sandy. She’s a 68-year old with a real zest for life. Sandy is slowly beginning to enter into the dating world. And while she says it’s drastically different than she remembers, she knows her girlfriends are always by her side… especially when it’s time for a “Double Pinot Grigio” at their local hangout, Dillon’s Restaurant.

Sunset Daze will air on VisionTV Tuesdays at 10pm ET starting January 18. Sunset Daze is a WETV original series out of the United States and is also airing there on Retirement Living TV.
