Glenn Gould Gets Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award

Nearly 31 years after his passing, Glenn Gould has nabbed yet another Grammy award. That’s five in total for the iconic Canadian classical pianist, who was announced today as a recipient of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Other recipients of this year’s lifetime achievement award include Tennessee Waltz singer Patti Page, who passed away on New Year’s Day at 85, Carole King, The Temptations, and late sitar legend Ravi Shankar.

The award marks Gould’s fifth Grammy, his last coming in 1983. He’ll be acknowledged at the 55th Grammy Awards on February 10th.
