Feminist icons Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem sat down recently to discuss the US election and how to move women forward.
During the Atlanta Women’s Foundation’s annual luncheon on November 10, Jane Fonda, 78, Gloria Steinem, 82, and WNBA President Lisa Borders, shared a stage to deliver a message for women (and men) left reeling after the nomination of Donald Trump.
“I feel like I was hit by a truck, frankly…I am scared, as a woman. I have daughters. I have granddaughters. I’m scared. But I know that we need to understand why this happened, and what it means, and how do we move forward together,” Fonda said.
“I know that we all didn’t vote for the same people,” she continued. “As women, we have to have each others’ backs, no matter who we voted for. We have to listen carefully.”
