Michelle Obama appeared on The Tonight Show and delivered a special surprise to some of her supporters.

A select handful of Americans were given the opportunity to bid farewell to Michelle Obama in a recorded speech of their own on The Tonight Show last night.

“Because of you, I know that my race does not define who I am or what I can accomplish,” one woman says as she stands in front of a portrait of the first lady. Another likens the first lady to “those special teachers you never forget.”

Little do they know, the first lady was watching each heartfelt address from behind a curtain. When she steps out to meet her admirers, emotions run high.
