Amal and George Clooney Welcome Ella and Alexander to the World

It’s official! The Clooney twins, Alexander and Ella have arrived.

Amal and George Clooney announced the arrival of their twins Ella and Alexander Tuesday morning.

“Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine,” the couple said in a statement. “George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”

In a recent interview, George Clooney talked about becoming a first time dad in his 50s. “My favourite part is, you know, all my friends who are my age, and I have many of them, they’re already done. Their kids are all grown up and away to college and they are laughing,” Clooney told Rencontres de Cinema.

But Clooney didn’t let the ribbing from his friends bother him, calling his late venture into fatherhood an “adventure.”

“We are really happy and really excited,” he added. “We’ve sort of embraced it all with arms wide open.”
