Canadian ‘Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble’ Broadcast to Feature Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Margaret Atwood

Hot on the heels of the massive One World: Together at Home musical special this past weekend, a number of homegrown broadcasters announced Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble — an upcoming Canadian celebration of music and entertainment set for Sunday, April 26.

Touted as an “a star-studded lineup of homegrown artists, activists, actors, and athletes,” the one-hour special will include performances and appearances by Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Sarah McLachlan, Margaret Atwood, Howie Mandel, Jann Arden, David Suzuki, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Chris Hadfield, Shania Twain, Rick Mercer, Michael Bublé, Rick Hansen and others “sharing their stories of hope and inspiration in a national salute to frontline workers combatting COVID-19.”

A joint venture between Bell Media, CBC/Radio-Canada, Corus Entertainment, Groupe V Média, and Rogers Sports & Media, the one-hour Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble broadcast also aims to help foster donations for Food Banks Canada.

“Frontline workers, across so many sectors including food banking, have been drastically impacted by COVID-19,” Food Banks Canada CEO Chris Hatch said in a statement. “They need our support and we are thankful for Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble for helping our most vulnerable neighbours.”

Other Canadian talents announced for the show include Alessia Cara, Arkells, Barenaked Ladies, Bianca Andreescu, Connor McDavid, Eric McCormack, Hayley Wickenheiser, Jason Priestley, Marie-Mai, Penny Oleksiak, Russell Peters, Sofia Reyes, Tessa Virtue, Will Arnett and William Prince, with more names expected in the coming days. Made | Nous, an organization that promotes and supports Canadian artists and content creators, is also helping present the event.

Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble will air commercial-free at 6:30 p.m. across all markets (7:00 p.m. NT) simultaneously on multiple television, radio and streaming platforms.

Saturday’s One World: Together At Home special featured performances by Dion, the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Jennifer Lopez and many more and reportedly drew more than a combined 14 million viewers across the three major U.S. networks — ABC, CBS and NBC —for the three-hour television broadcast.
