Actress Hilary Swank revealed her next exciting role is motherhood as she announced she is pregnant with twins. On Good Morning America on Thursday, the 48-year-old Oscar Award-winning actress shared that she and her husband, Philip Schneider, 45, are expecting their first children. The couple married in 2018.

“It’s so nice to be able to talk about it and share it,” said Swank.

Later in the same morning, Swank appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan, sharing more details about her surprise announcement.

She revealed that not even the crew of Alaska Daily, the new Hulu TV show she is promoting, knew she was pregnant while filming its first season. She is currently in her second trimester.

“This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time,” said Swank as she shared her exciting news.

While pregnancies over 40 years of age can have a greater risk of complications for the child and the pregnant person, more people in their early 40s are choosing to have children and the results can be great.

According to this study, the pregnancy process was not significantly different between younger women and older women if pre-existing diseases were treated well, pregnancy-induced morbidity was monitored regularly, they attended regular check-ups, they maintained a healthy lifestyle and if delivery was in a perinatal centre. Although, there were more cesarean births among women over 40.

Swank shared that twins run in her family and her husband’s family, as both of their grandmothers were twins.

“It’s double excitement!” said Swank.
