Oprah is at it again. Her legendary television show may be drawing to a close but her influence will never end. To wit, her announcement of her most recent selection into her book club, Charles Dicken’s two novels Great Expectations and A Tale of Two Cities. While many living novelists have benefited enormously from her endorsement, this isn’t the first classic she’s pegged for re-ignited super stardom, she has also selected novels by William Faulkner, John Steinbeck and Leo Tolstoy. In celebration of Oprah’s Book Club, Dicken’s publisher, Penguin, has released a gorgeous new volume that contains both novels. What better way to enjoy the holiday’s more quieter moments?
