Tastemaker: Alfred Sung

Pure timeless style is Alfred Sung’s middle name. From his original store, Moon, on Toronto’s Carlton Street, Sung has been both the mastermind behind his eponymous womenswear collection and the original designer of the too-cool fashion emporium, Club Monaco. And his brand continues to grow with internationally successful fragrances including Sung, and the newest fragrance, Always, along with a line of eyewear. At
62 years young, this iconic dynamo shows no sign of ever missing a stylish whitesocked-and-penny-loafered step. Today, Sung is excited about his recent fashion coup for Zellers: a collection of reasonably priced, perfectly styled women’s clothing called Pure. “It’s been an exciting and rewarding challenge to offer Canadians the best there is at an affordable price,”he says. Sung has also lent his talent to a collection of outdoor furniture for the Bay, which debuts next spring. Pure is available at more than 300 Zellers stores
across Canada.
