Sir Elton John performing at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding seems like a given. Princess Diana was a big fan of John and Prince William is trying to incorporate his mother into the wedding as much as possible, from his choice of ring (Princess Di’s engagement ring) to the couple’s choice of venue (where her funeral was held).

When asked by BBC radio yesterday if he would be performing at the wedding John replied, “I am probably,” followed by, “I’ll probably be busking outside.”

The sixty-three-year-old singer performed Candle in the Wind at Princess Diana’s funeral and the lyrics were adapted to reflect her life. The song quickly became a hit as the biggest-selling single in UK chart history.

The royal wedding will be held on April 29 and Prince William would like to fill Westminster Abbey, where his mother’s funeral was held in 1997, with volunteers, children and the homeless to make it the “People’s Royal Wedding.”
