Aged to Perfection

At the age of 50, Julianne Moore is on top of her game.

Seems like Hollywood is finally catching on that when women hit 40 life begins, not begins to fade. According to the Los Angeles Times roles for actresses in their 40s, 50s and 60s is increasing. The Screen Actors Guild reports that in 2003 women over 40 held only 11% of the onscreen parts, fast-forward to 2009 and that number swelled to 28%. Be it a societal shift in how we view aging and/or the increased power of women producers/writers and directors, we like what we see.
