Russell Williams Owes $8000 in Victim Fines

Convicted murderer, rapist and former Canadian Forces colonel Russel Williams has yet to pay his victims surcharge fines of $8,000 to spite collecting $60,000 in annual military pension.

According to reports, a collection agency is making an effort to get money from Williams who is currently in the Kingston Penitentiary serving two life sentences.

Assuming criminals don’t have the money to pay, judges usually waive victim surcharges.

Executive director of Ottawa Victims Services Steve Sullivan says,“It was part of his sentence, he owes the money. If he has the ability to pay it and it’s a conscious choice not to pay, it certainly raises questions whether there’s any remorse.”
