Spock Retires

At a Chicago Star Trek convention, celebrating the 45th anniversary of the iconic science fiction franchise, Leonard Nimoy announced that he will be hanging up his Spock ears and will no longer attend the Star Trek conventions.

After an hour-long speech about his life and career, the 80-year-old thanked his fans for their support, held up his hands with four fingers in the “V” for Vulcan sign and said “Live long and prosper.”

The actor played Mr. Spock in the original series that began in September 1966.
