Colin Farrell Hosts Memorial Service for the Late Elizabeth Taylor

Colin Farrell acted as host at a private memorial service for the late Elizabeth Taylor this past weekend. Farrell revealed shortly after Taylor’s death this past March that he had grown very close with the legendary actress in recent years and felt lucky to have found a friend in her. Approximately 400 people attended the service, including close family and friends of Taylor. Other well-known attendees included actor Michael Caine as well as singer Elton John who performed a rendition of his hit ‘Blue Eyes’ at the ceremony. Family members such as Taylor’s son Michael Wilding said a few words, and grandson Rhys Tivey performed a rendition of ‘Amazing Grace,’ no doubt moving everyone in the room. We’re sure Ms. Taylor’s presence was felt when Farrell read a poem handpicked by the actress herself specifically to be read by him at her funeral. Farrell said, “Elizabeth chose it. It was a tricky poem as well. Even in passing she had me under the thumb, sweating bricks.”
