Happy Birthday, Litte Richard!

The man famous for transitioning rhythm and blues to rock and roll in the 1950s turns 79 today! Real name, Richard Wayne Penniman, Little Richard claims to be the “architect of rock and roll.” Considering his high-energy, chart-topping classics like Good Golly, Miss Molly, Tutti Frutti and Long Tall Sally- just to name a few- we are sure very few would argue. As a nod to the musician’s birthday, we share this 1964 live performance of  Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.
