Zoomers Lead the Pack with Golden Globe Nominations

It was announced last month that Ricky Gervais would once again be playing host at the 2012 Golden Globe awards. Many of you may have forgotten, or perhaps, have chosen to block the memory out of Gervais’ run as host on last year’s broadcast. Although the comedic actor is known for his sharp-tongued humour, after last year’s Globes, many were left unamused and found his jokes pushed the envelope a little too far.

We couldn’t help but notice that several of his jokes had disappointing ageist undertones. Just to refresh your memory, he took a jab at the ladies of Sex and the City, saying, “There should have been a special effects award to the team that airbrushed the poster for Sex and the City 2.” He also made ageist jokes at the expense of Cher and Hugh Hefner, just to name a few.

The full list of nominees for 2012 was released today. And we are delighted by how many Zoomers made the cut. That folks, is what you call the perfect revenge.
