Just Married: Peter Mackay Ties the Knot in Mexico

Peter Mackay, Canada’s Defence Minister (and helicopter enthusiast) married Nazanin Afshin-Jam, in a private ceremony yesterday in Mexico. The Iranian-born Afshin-Jam, besides being a pilot and Miss World Canada winner, is also a staunch advocate for human rights. Mackay, who had previously been engaged to television executive Jana Juginovic and had a famous flame-out with Belinda Stronach is happy to be married and is looking forward to returning to his Nova Scotia riding and spending more time with “the most important person in my life.”
