Arrest Made in Eaton Centre Shooting

Police say they have made an arrest in the Saturday’s shootings at Toronto’s Eaton Centre food court this weekend.

They have identified the suspect who went on a shooting rampage at approximately 6:30 pm EST Saturday evening but have not released any other details. The 24-year-old man who died, Ahmed Hassan, was a victim of a targeted attack, is known to police and is believed to have gang ties but it is not yet known if the shooting was gang-related.

Of the six who were injured in the shooting spree, two remain in hospital in critical condition- a 13-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man.

The Eaton Centre will re-open today for the first time since the shooting. However, the food court will remain closed.
