The 3rd Annual Zoomer List: Canada’s Top 45 Over 45: Dr. Edgar Williams

Dr. Edgar Williams, 68, Chair of CARP’s Avalon, Newfoundland and Labrador, Chapter

Retiring after 40 years in the mathematics department at St. John’s Memorial University in 2005, Williams’ days are busier now than ever. In addition to representing CARP at the national level for more than a decade, Williams works with the Memorial University Pensioners Association, the College and University Retirees Association of Canada, the Naval Officers Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Royal St. John’s Regatta. For his commitment and passion, Williams was honoured this year as Volunteer of the Year by the Community Sector Council and with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. “I just don’t know how to say no.”
