Britain’s Prince Edward to attend Swedish Royal wedding

Britain’s Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, will attend the wedding of Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and Sofia Hellqvist.
Edward, 51 – who is the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II – and his 50-year-old wife will be the only members of the British royal family joining their Swedish counterparts for the nuptials on June 13, Buckingham Palace has confirmed to PEOPLE.
While, Prince William and his wife, the Duchess of Catherine, recently welcomed their second child Princess Charlotte and will not be in attendance, other members of European royal families are expected to watch Carl Philip, 36, and Sofia, 30, tie the knot.
It is thought Spain’s King Felipe VI and his wife Queen Letizia will travel to Sweden next week but they have not yet confirmed this in their official schedule.
However, it is widely expected the couple will join in the celebrations as they were guests at the wedding of Carl Philip’s sister Princess Victoria to Prince Daniel in 2010.
They also flew to Scandinavia to celebrate Queen Margrethe of Denmark’s 75th birthday in April this year.
