Britain’s Princess Anne attends Thanksgiving service

Britain’s Princess Anne attended a Service of Thanksgiving at Peel Cathedral yesterday (21.07.15).
The Princess Royal, who is a patron of the Isle of Man cathedral’s appeal to raise £10 million for development, celebrated the success so far with the special service.
The aim of the appeal is to make it a new cultural venue by the end of 2018.
Earlier in the week, the 64-year-old royal visited Rutland Water to open Active Rutland Hub at Oakham Enterprise Park.
Peter Barron, who took part in a race which the Princess watched, has admitted his friends back in the United States of America would be “jealous” he got to rub shoulders with royalty.
He said: “It was really cool to meet her. I was surprised by how much she knew about sailing.
“Some of my friends know a lot about the Royal family so they might be pretty jealous that I’ve got to meet her.”
Unveiling the plaque before she sat down to enjoy the race, Princess Anne offered her best wishes to the club.
She said: “I hope you enjoy it and the many many more members – if you can fit them all in! My very best wishes to you for the future.”
