Prince William to attend England vs France Match

Britain’s Duke of Cambridge is to attend the England football team’s friendly against France tonight (17.11.15).
Prince William has decided to attend the match at London’s Wembley Stadium in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris last week that saw explosions go off outside the Stade de France during the French team’s friendly against Germany, Kensington Palace have confirmed.
The 33-year-old royal – who is president of the English Football Association [FA] – wants to show “solidarity to the people of France”, according to ITV News.
There will be heightened security around the stadium in northwest London following the devastating attacks last week.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, will also be in attendance at the match after saying it is “absolutely right” for it to go ahead.
He said: “The horrific atrocities perpetrated in Paris on Friday were an attack on our very way of life, our freedom, our democracy.
“Of course we can never be complacent … But I can’t think of a better riposte to this ideology of hate than to carry on with our lives, our loves and our passions.
“Football is one such passion, and it is absolutely right that tomorrow’s match is to go ahead and that England supporters will be able to come together with their French cousins in solidarity and remembrance to enjoy international football at its very best.”
