Royals Issue Casual Christmas Cards

With the holidays just a week away, Kensington Palace released a new family Christmas photo featuring Britian’s Prince William with Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The photo, which was taken in October in the gardens of Kensington Palace, depicts the young royal family casually dressed, looking just like any average family.

There is a toy train on the grass, Princess Charlotte is missing one shoe, Prince George is in shorts and the future king, Prince William is in a non-descript navy sweater.

But it is this normalcy – something that the late Princess Diana adhered to when it came to raising her sons – that has endeared William and Kate to their loyal subjects.

Further proof that the couple have made this a lifestyle, rather than a mere photo-op, the palace also announced that Prince George will be attending a nursery school in January.

But instead of a high-profile elite nursery in London, the couple chose West Acre, a secluded rural school in the village of East Walton that specializes in Montessori teaching and cost just a mere £33 a day in fees.

Also taking a low-maintence approach to Christmas cards, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also released their Christmas portrait, which shows the couple hugging and smiling in grassy field with a wooden shed in the background. Taken this past summer by a friend, it was supposedly a mere holiday snap but they loved it so, they decided to use it to accompany their holiday greetings, which simply reads, “Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year.”
