Sweden’s Princess Victoria gives birth to baby boy

Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria has given birth to a son.
The 38-year-old princess and husband Prince Daniel – who already have four-year-old Princess Estelle together -welcomed their second child into the world on Tuesday (01.03.16) at 8.28pm local time at the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, The Swedish Royal Court confirmed.
Both mother and baby, who weighed eight pounds and measured 22 inches long, are said to be doing well.
The loved-up pair, who got married in 2010, were initially planning to welcome their little one at Hala Palace via a home birth, but they seemingly changed their minds.
Nevertheless, Prince Daniel witnessed his little son being born and later left the hospital to address the press.
Meanwhile, the couple announced they were expecting their second child back in September, but decided to remain tight-lipped on the tiny tot’s sex until the birth.
However, the princess – who was rumoured to be expecting twins – joked Estelle wasn’t interested in having either a little brother or a younger sister to play with.
She quipped recently: “What she really wants is a hamster!”
