Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge: Queen Elizabeth gives me ‘gentle guidance’

Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge says Queen Elizabeth has been a “gentle guidance”.
The 34-year-old royal praised her grandmother-in-law for her generosity and support.
Speaking as part of ITV’s Our Queen At 90 documentary, she said: “She’s been very generous in not being forceful at all in any of her views. I feel she’s been there, a gentle guidance really for me.”
Meanwhile, Duchess Catherine and her two children – Prince George, two, and Princess Charlotte, 10 months – are incredibly close to the 89-year-old royal, with the family recently spending the Christmas just gone with the Queen at Sandringham.
Asked what he would be doing to mark the festive period, Prince William said at the time: “Well, if I get any sleep on Christmas Eve it’ll be good, because George will be bouncing around like a rabbit. I think George will be extremely bouncy this year because he’s suddenly worked out what Christmas is all about.
“So that will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging. But I’m looking forward to it.
“We’ll go to church as a family on Christmas Day, as we always do. Then we’ll watch George try to tackle his presents as he tries to unwrap them.
“It’s a very different experience at Christmas, having a family of your own. It’d be nice if we got a white Christmas because we haven’t had one in many years.”
