Queen Elizabeth Sends Out Tweet

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has taken to Twitter to personally thank those who wished her a happy birthday online.

The 90-year-old model took to the social networking site on Tuesday (21.06.16) via her iPad to collectively respond to everybody who has sent her messages of “kindness.”

She tweeted: “I am most grateful for the many digital messages of goodwill I have received and would like to thank you all for your kindness. Elizabeth R.”

The post was then followed up with, “This tweet was personally sent by Her Majesty The Queen.”

And just minutes later, a picture of the monarch sitting at her desk in front of her gadget was uploaded to The Royal Family official account accompanied with the caption: “The Queen has tweeted to thank all who have sent messages of goodwill on social media for her Birthday #Queenat90 (sic)”

This isn’t the first time the queen has used the social networking site as she also sent out her first tweet in 2014 when she opened a new exhibition at the Science Museum.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth reached her milestone on April 21 but the festivities continue for three months until June.

Although her real birthday is in April, Elizabeth also has her official birthday sometime in June—this year it fell on June 11—as part of a tradition going back 250 years, which was introduced to ensure better weather for the celebrations.
