Kevin McMaster, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic

Kevin has been working in refrigeration air conditioning and heating for almost 20 years. He recently started his own business, McMaster Mechanical Services, which services the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario including Guelph, Kitchener and Waterloo.

Humbled by his nomination, Kevin credits it to his honesty. He says that his job is to find and fix the problem, and not just to sell you a new furnace or air conditioner. Kevin also feels responsibility to the people who trained him when he was an apprentice. “There’s a little bit of built-in pride factor, a high level of workmanship that was passed down to me from a previous journeyman.”

Being part of his small Rockwood community means a great deal to Kevin. His local customers recommend him on their neighbourhood Facebook page, and he often runs into them around town. “Moving from Brampton (a big city) to a small town, you sure find out quickly who does what and who helps people out.”
