Dream Trip to France

Embark on a musical journey with, on air host from Classical 96.3 and accomplished violinist, Kathleen Kajioka.

Join me from September 19 to 29, 2019, for an unforgettable tour and river cruise in France. Travel through the most famous wine regions in the world, putting faces to the names Saint Emillion, Blaye, Médoc and many more locales so familiar to wine-lovers and enjoy musical treats along the way!

Beautiful Bordeaux

Our journey starts in Bordeaux, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with a 3-night stay in the magnificent 5-star InterContintental Grand Hotel. Located in the city centre, this luxurious accommodation is home to Gordon Ramsay’s Brasserie where we will enjoy a gourmet dinner. Their Sauterne Lounge will host our private cocktail party, where we will mix and mingle over a view of the historic Grand Theatre.

Bordeaux will also the first of our musical stops!  I can’t tell you how excited I am to be able to treat you to an experience exclusive to our travel group: a private concert by my colleagues in Ensemble Masques. I regularly travel to Europe to perform with this group, which includes some of the finest musicians on the continent. Now you can experience them for yourself, up close in a musical tour of the exquisite French Baroque. I am thrilled the performance will take place in the unique setting of Le Chapon Fin, one of Bordeaux’s oldest establishment.

And for an even deeper look into my world, we will visit with a local luthier, and see how violins are made! There is nothing quite like walking into the workshops of these skilled craftspeople, who turn blocks of wood into timeless vessels of musical expression.

Our River Cruise

Day four of our journey we will board Uniworld’s S.S Bon Voyage, bid à bientôt to Bordeaux and set sail.
